Prolo therapy is where they inject an irritant solution to irritate the ligament in order to get it to shorten and tighten in hopes of pulling my knee cap over back in its place. 6 years ago if I would sneeze, I felt like my abdominal muscles rolled up into a ball and took a ride around my abdomen. It was excruciating. This was due to my 3rd stomach surgery. I’ve always made it a point to work on my abdominal strength because I’ve always been weak there since day 1, 8/31/84, the day I was born, the day of my first surgery. With each surgery having to start over. It’s been years since I’ve had this stomach cramp. In fact, I am so strong in my abs I can do acrobats. It has taken work. It’s been so long since this cramp that I forgot why I work on my abs and I don’t ever think about being grateful for my ab strength and how much I’ve progressed. Today I was reminded of it. I started today with teaching sculpt where we do a ton of an work and I do it all with my students, then took class and took a very intense workshop for hand stands which require a ton of abs. In the last 20 minutes of these 4 hours of intensity I got the cramp… Mid - crunch. At first I teared up feeling lack. I sat out the rest of class. Sometimes we need reminders of how far we’ve come and how easy it seems knowing exactly what needs to be done and that it is attainable. Maybe preparing me to be as grateful when emotions, connections, exchanges, something more confusing, seems to be crashing and I will know what exactly needs to be done and that it is attainable.
